About

The story behind Raconteur

Raconteur began as a passing thought: what if a short-story publishing site worked exactly the way I always wished one would? A home for the art of writing and the love of reading. A home for writers and readers alike.

After several iterations, this is it. A website where the only thing that matters is the writing. Where a six-hundred-word flash piece is given the same dignity as a fourteen-line poem or an eighty-thousand-word novel. Where a story written at midnight can reach a stranger on the other side of the world by morning.

What you'll find here

Short stories and flash fiction, poetry, articles, quotes, and full-length novels.

There are no likes to chase here. (There are like buttons. Do use them.) No follower counts to inflate. (Follows exist. Follow away.) No share buttons to abuse. (Please share.) No comment sections to duel in. (Be kind in them.) Beyond all four, this is a place where writers publish work they're proud of, and readers show up for the love of the game.

So if this looks like somewhere you'd want to write, or read: make an account and start. Cheers.
