A light darkness

“This darkness is my light”
Albert Camus.
A light darkness
: I was born with half of my soul missing
I was born with half of emotions
I was born with half of a heart
I was born with a desire to search for all missing fragments
Am I alone in this? I guess we are all missing fullness
I guess we are all searching for what was once
Doomed to look with no end
Who made us as such?
Who cursed us with a lifetime of search?
Are we such lowly beings that our realities were shaped according to their whims?
A hole was left in my heart
With nothing to fill the void
This is my nature
I presume this is everyone’s nature
Cursed to nurse a half heart from night to dawn,
A darkness for a second identity
A darkness looming over
A darkness to fight in perpetuity
A darkness for a shadow,
But the oddest of the oddest
This darkness has become my light
This darkness whispers light to me
This darkness points me to the light
This darkness has become my morning,
Now I know why I have this darkness
Now I know why I was given this darkness.
