The Envy of the Gods
: Being human is beautiful
We flutter our wings for a moment and experience reality
The gods gave us mortality
But they envy us because we can know death
This moment can be our last
That is our doom but our doom gives us beauty
And beauty gives us meaning,
Being human is divine
Faith walks with us
Hope settles in our heart
Sins are forgiven
Mercy is an option
Grace can be found in the most unlikely
Worship is a choice
Probably why the gods envy us,
But there is misery too
But so is peace
Happiness is a replacement
There is joy too
Contentment can be ours.
Being human is a trial by love
We can feel love
We can give love
It can leave us
But we can find it again,
And then there is pain in loving
The hate in loving
The end in loving
Love has a condition for humans and it is conscious choice
We are free, the gods are not
Everything is more beautiful because any moment can be our last.

: Being human is a blessing
Because we can be replaced, there is an end
The gods envy us because there is no end for them
So, there is meaning to be found in our existence
We can be forgotten tomorrow
That is why purposeful living is a choice
Mortality bring meaning to our actions
The immortal ones do not need urgency nor necessity,
A momentary existence is enough
We can relish in the unknown
We are doomed to look for answers
But that is why we are meaningful
The answers we seek turn to Knowledge
And then to wisdom
And then wisdom gives birth to growth
The gods envy us because growth is not in their nature
They are cursed because they know everything
The unknown is a beautiful place
Because it fuels our curiosity
The gods lack curiosity
Discovery avoids them
They are envious because we are curious
Being human means we can change
Permanency is not in our nature
They envy us because we can know solitude and be alone
They can never be alone
Everything is more beautiful for us
Because we are doomed
Any moment can be our last.

We fall so that we can stand up
We err only to be given another chance
Do not lose hope
There is tomorrow
And the sun will shine on you again,
You surrendered to evil once
Life comes again so that you can fight it this time
You lied! Here take one more day but speak the truth
You were weak, here take another day and be strong this time
You were cruel, here one more day so that you can be kind
The gods, they envy us because they can’t fall neither err nor be weak,
Being human is not weakness
Sure it comes with a lot of flaws
But life comes around and says,
“Here, take 100 years and make something out of it
Experience the gamut of my speciality
Be helpless for 10
Be rebellious for the next 10
Learn and work for the next 40
Meanwhile, go on adventure,
Find love, watch the sunset, sleep under the stars,
Sing a song under the moon, run in the rain,
Cry, laugh, hate, be angry, be in awe, write stories,
Create art, find new people, witness miracles, gather knowledge, find wisdom and then create life with another person-that is my greatest gift I bestow upon you”
This is what being human means
This is why the gods envy us
Everything is more beautiful for us in spite of being here for only a moment,
Everything is more beautiful because we are doomed.
