Shrouded Life

“I suppose it will all make sense when we all grow up”
Calvin and Hobbes.
Shrouded Life
: I looked into the future when life was young
I hoped life will make sense when life is all but counted
But life remained as incomprehensible as ever
While some did,
Some will, eventually.
While some will evade my understanding no matter how much I feed on life,
And in that lies my pain
Time is a friend but a penurious one,
The years are getting heavy but it still does not make sense,
I suppose time deliberately chose to be parsimonious to life
To keep some out of reach,
But will I grasp everything in longevity?
I suppose obscurity was the instruction,
I suppose it prefers to be shrouded
I suppose it was written to be concealed
I suppose it was never meant to be conspicuous
I suppose I still have more years to chew
And I suppose it will all make sense
But if it does not, I won’t go gently into the night
Even when all my years have been counted
I will keep walking towards it.
